New Age Journal, an award-winning lifestyle magazine with a circulation of 250,000 (purchased in 2004 by Martha Stewart Omnimedia and rebranded as Whole Living), covered the emerging green movement, along with organic foods, alternative agriculture, and sustainability. This dovetailed nicely with my own interests in gardening and self-reliance, as you can see in my Backyard Homestead section. Here are a couple examples of my feature writing from that time.
