I served as FamilyFun's top editor for travel and frequently contributed my own first-person articles when my kids were younger. (Three examples are seen here.) Unlike many travel publications aimed at high-end readers and advertisers, our editorial philosophy was not aspirational but practical. We presented articles by real parents about real vacations, often basing our coverage decisions on recommendations sent in by the readers themselves. FamilyFun offered more travel coverage than any other publication in its category.
